According to popular legend, the top of "Pico da Amendoeira" or Almond Tree Peak, in Ponta do Sol, due to its privileged location and views, was considered as a possible place for the construction of the religious temple of the "Lombada dos Esmeraldos" town, which ended up being implemented in another place in the town, next to the "Solar" of "Joao Esmeraldo" owner of all these lands in the XV century, and by the way friend of the famous Christopher Columbus, whom he hosted for several days at his house in Funchal, which was located in the current "Praça de Colombo", Columbus Square

Both first line properties are on the south side of the "Pico da Amendoeira" in Ponta do Sol, with a totally free and panoramic “forever view” over the island and sea from the East to the Southwest, being possible to see the sunset over the ocean in autumn, winter, part of spring and summer. Both projects were developed simultaneously by the same team of architects with the aim of guaranteeing free panoramic views for both constructions, the privacy between them and architectural harmony.
